I was sitting at our usual table at the Legion<\/p>\n
When a girl stood up and she was a vision<\/p>\n
Blondes have always been my nemesis<\/p>\n
And this one was sure one not to miss<\/p>\n
Her dance moves made my heart skip a beat<\/p>\n
I just knew that we needed to meet<\/p>\n
I got up my courage to go and talk to her<\/p>\n
That she could dance with me I wasn\u2019t sure<\/p>\n
What to say to her I started to worry<\/p>\n
I said my name but she said \u201cI\u2019m sorry\u201d<\/p>\n
She was sorry about my name?<\/p>\n
That was a first. Was I to blame?<\/p>\n
She laughed and said her name was Sornia<\/p>\n
So much better but I thought she said Sonia<\/p>\n
Only later did I learn that was wrong<\/p>\n
I\u2019d finally get it right. It wouldn\u2019t be long<\/p>\n
Her hair. Her eyes. Her smile had my heart in a whirl<\/p>\n
I wondered to myself if she could be my girl.<\/p>\n
My friend said to take it slow. Don\u2019t frighten her off<\/p>\n
But I was so worried it would not be enough<\/p>\n
Total honesty has been my crutch for my whole life<\/p>\n
And I sure knew being honest about being my wife<\/p>\n
Would end it before it had even could begin<\/p>\n
Caution would rule if her heart I could win<\/p>\n
But I blew it by making a comment I\u2019d regret<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen we get married forget a cigarette<\/p>\n
The choice between you and smoking is clear as a bell\u201d<\/p>\n
Being with you is pure heaven. Smoking is pure hell<\/p>\n
She is the very best dance partner I\u2019ve ever had<\/p>\n
That I found her at last sure makes me glad<\/p>\n
What the future will hold who really knows?<\/p>\n
That there\u2019s only two perfect people really shows<\/p>\n
Just how hard it is to find your soulmate<\/p>\n
Especially when right now we don\u2019t even date<\/p>\n
She says she wants to be my \u201cfriend\u201d<\/p>\n

But hope springs eternal is what they say<\/p>\n
