Just like the dawn of a new day
\nHope blossoms in a special way
\nThoughts of what might be fill my heart
\nShe\u2019s special, that I knew from the start<\/p>\n
Like so many people we met on the net
\nWe kidded; we flirted; had fun and yet
\nShe was with another so part of her life
\nWas being a mother and also a wife.<\/p>\n
No danger here I thought
\nFor love was what I sought
\nNo she could never be more than a friend
\nMy lonely heart, she would not mend<\/p>\n
But there might be more here, we both knew
\nAnd as time went by it became more true
\nWe joked and we laughed to the point of tears
\nThe more we chatted, the less our fears<\/p>\n
That fateful day when I first heard her voice
\nTo meet her I knew I had no choice
\nRight from the start we acted like more
\nHer obvious charms I began to adore<\/p>\n
No subject was off limits to her
\nWell, except one for me for sure
\nNot impossible but a struggle for me
\nRaw emotion springs from the big \u201cC\u201d<\/p>\n
I\u2019ll deal with it because it\u2019s a part of her
\nThat it didn\u2019t exist we\u2019d much prefer
\nBut sometimes reality can really suck
\nOften a matter of pure dumb luck<\/p>\n
She forgave me and said to move on
\nHer strength and conviction, it shone
\nShe\u2019s learned to treasure every single day
\nNot live for tomorrow but enjoy today<\/p>\n
To some it sounds like I\u2019m being a jerk
\nWe\u2019re so far apart how can it possibly work?
\nOften said, where there\u2019s a will, there\u2019s a way
\nWe may well test that theory some future day<\/p>\n
For now there\u2019s only the unknown
\nBut so far she has clearly shown
\nThere is the promise of tomorrows
\nTo ease the pain of our past sorrows<\/p>\n
There may well be blips, stumbles and falters
\nBut she\u2019s worth the effort, this Denise Walters.
