The club has made some changes over the years. This is how they describe themselves now –

The Okanagan Club for Skiing, Sports and Socials was founded in 1972 as the Orchard Country Ski Club (OCSC) by an enthusiastic group of Kelowna skiers. We are a registered not-for-profit organization in BC, run by volunteers. There is a mix of singles and couples who enjoy sports and activities all year round. Many people join for our many different sports and social events. Our adult club is about having fun, meeting people, getting exercise, and making new friends. Our Club is open to all 19 yrs + who like to enjoy life and friends. Please consider joining us!
Our club nights are held the third Thursday of every month at Rusty’s Steakhouse, 1525 Dilworth Drive. Club nights start at 7:00 PM. New members always welcome.

For a time I was on the Executive, I believe as treasurer, and I remember executive meetings where I suggested the club expand the mandate to include more than just skiing. Their monthly members’ meeting at a local Blues Club was very popular. I had contacted the members about weekly bike riding, hiking and roller-blading and got a lot of interest. The President at the time rejected the idea saying it was and always will be a ski club. Shortly after I left they adopted exactly what I suggested.

I had built a website for the ski club but they never got too excited about al my work. I believe that I was the one who registered their current domain. The current website just shows “under maintenance”.
